3-DIMENSIONAL WORK
Jewelry - In 1990 I made some bracelets from soldered silver wire in a design of interlocking running hares. A friend asked me to make her one with a mermaid design. I made several further designs but did not realise them.
Mermaid Puppet - This puppet was made while I was at college. I just love puppets. She is a marionette made from plaster of paris and scrim over a wire armature, with fully articulating tail and arms.
Bowls and other Vessels - These glass bowls are made from beach glass. I collected it, and tried to piece together vessels that were beautiful and returned the glass to its former function. I tried to use the pieces in similar positions on the new vessel that they were on the old. The original bottles of beer or milk or spirits were given a new unexpected life.
